Open House
In this new Netflix Original movie a teenager, played by Dylan Minnette, and his mother, played by Piercey Dalton, find themselves surrounded by threatening forces after they move into a temporary housing arrangement. After all that Netflix goes through to put movies out you would think that they would put a little more effort into preparing and developing them. There were several mistakes made throughout the movie and the entire plot was unclear. The son seems overwhelmingly aware of the plot as the movie moves along and when you find out that what is going on has nothing to do with the previous events in the movie it ends up feeling really vague and unfinished. There were a few jump scares but as a horror movie it wasn’t any good. The only thing this movie had going for it was its ability to build suspense but even that let them down because they would build suspense and have an underwhelming event follow it up. I give 2 stars because it wasn’t all that good but you still wanted to stick around until it was over (even if the ending was one of the worst parts of the story.)
