An armored gunman opened fire inside a rural Texas church on Sunday, Novemeber 5, killing more than two dozen people. Twenty-six people were killed and nineteen were hospitalized during the shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs. The massacre in Sutherland Springs is the deadliest ever at a house of worship in the United States. The shooter was later found dead and identified him as Devin Patrick Kelley. Kelley was a former member of the Air Force, who was discharged for bad conduct. He was court-martialed in 2012 on two charges of assaulting his spouse and their child. He was confined for a year and reduced a rank before his discharge. Two residents drove after Kelley, while exchanging gunfire the suspect crashed. The suspect was found dead in the vehicle. It wasn’t clear whether Kelley died of a self-inflicted gunshot wounds or of a shot fired by the residents. The ages of injured victims were 5 to 72 years old; 18 months to 77 years old are those who are dead. There are multiple ways to help the families: Holcombe Family GoFundMe account, Ward family GoFundMe account, First Baptist Church Sutherland Springs website, donate blood (mainly O-negative or O-postive).
