On November 15, 2024, Jaxon Schoedel, a senior, at Mohawk Area District, signed with a locally fan famous college, Penn State, to continue his track career. Jaxon Schoedel has made history, and has defended his PIAA Championship. He was voted by New Castle News and staff, and later named Lawrence County Athlete of the Week. Schoedel is the most decorated runner in all of Mohawk’s history, and is he is fourth, as a WPIAL boy runner to win 2 PIAA championships. Jaxon’s lead in the Mohawk Track, as a captain has brought the team to great accomplishments. Last year, the boys track team took third in WPIAL 1A Class Championship. Jaxon said that he had always wanted to compete at a Division 1 level after he graduates, and since he is now recruited to Penn State, he has accomplished one of his goals.
