Lady Warriors Advance

Nick Beam, Staff Writer

The lady warriors are having an incredible season, with a big game tomorrow night in the WPIAL semi-finals. Getting the number two seed in the sixteen team bracket, with a first round bye. The lady warriors took on East Allegheny at North Hills this weekend, coming out of there with a win 70-58. Karly McCuthcheon led the team with 24 points, Paige Julian had 17 and Nadia Lape added 13. Now the lady warriors (20-3) must travel to West Allegheny Wednesday for a match-up against Carlynton (15-8) at 6:15 p.m. With a win Wednesday these girls would have an opportunity to go to the WPIAL championship game Saturday at the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center. They would play the winner of Beaver and Avonworth game who play right after the lady warriors Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. It will not be easy though, The Lady cougars have won the last 11 of their 12 game which is quite impressive late in the season. Senior Karly McCuthcheon is leading her team but also making sure her priorities are straight. Her main focus is not looking ahead but focusing on the task at hand.
