At Mohawk Area School District, the Warrior P.R.I.D.E Team will be hosting a Night at the Races fundraiser. On February 8, 2025, this event will be held at the Keystone Event Center in Bessemer Pa. This fundraiser is benefiting The Mohawk Area School District Behavioral Program, and you must be 21 years or older to attend. During the fundraiser, there will be small games of chance basket raffles, small games of chance license, and horseback racing. Ticket donations will include food, bottled water, beer, and entertainment. Including BYOB and snacks. If you have any questions or concerns attached there are numbers and emails for information.

Nyion’e Wright is a freshman at Mohawk Junior Senior High School. Nyion’e has a family of 9, with 7 siblings, so she is always busy. In her free time she likes to play softball, read, and spend time with friends and family. She is also a majorette and is part of the Mohawk Marching Band. She also plays softball for Mohawk. Her favorite thing to do is stay active and help her siblings. During the week she has no time to rest and is participating in her siblings softball or baseball games, or going to training of her own. She takes time in what she does, and never tries to one up anyone, she believes that on the field it is okay to make mistakes, and you will learn from them. The game must go on, so forget about the last play and make the next one a better one. Her mom is her biggest fan, and is always telling her to make sure she has fun, and to always put her heart out on the field.
