On December 14th, Mohawk Area School District Students shopped with the Mohawk Police Department. The cops provided the kids with holiday magic, to make their Christmas more special. This program provides children within our community to go holiday shopping with assistance throughout the year to the kids facing hardships. This also helps connect our school’s officers to Mohawk Students.
Students purchased things like bikes, blankets, stuffed animals, cups, helmets, candy, drinks, toys, and even more things, through this program. These children feel excited to receive gifts that they once may have thought they never had a chance to get, sending a powerful message to them. This experience also helps students feel more comfortable around law enforcement.
