On November 6th, Mohawk Area School District had their 26th annual local Veterans Day Program at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Local Lawrence County Veterans gathered with their family and friends and Mohawk Students grades 6-12 filled the audience.
The evening was filled with singing, music, dancing, speeches, prayers, and more. This night was possible thanks to the sponsorship of Mohawk Future Business Leaders of America and The Cathedral Foundation. Featured throughout the evening were The Mohawk Band, The Mohawk Chorus, The Mohawk FBLA, The New Castle Area Honor Guard, and Keynote Speaker Lt. Col. Jeff Shaffer.
Mohawk Students appreciate the Veterans for the liberties they enjoy today such as playing sports, shopping, and visiting friends. These activities are possible today because of the Veterans who fought and gave their lives for our freedom.
