The 2023 Mohawk Cross Country Season did not disappoint.
Varsity Girls
A team like this doesn’t come around often. Seniors Natalie Lape, Evelyn McClain, Lillian McClain, and Lydia Fair end their high school careers 45-0, 4x Section Champs, 2x WPIAL Champs, and 4 Undefeated Seasons. In fact, will a team like this ever come around again? This girls team is certainly one for the Mohawk history books, what they have done is extraordinary.
Varsity Boys
The boys had a great season. The team is still young and has much more to accomplish. Tri-County medalist include Nico Cascavilla, Grayson Ponziani, Scotty McConnell, and Jaxon Schoedel. Jaxon Schoedel has had the best season of any individual from Mohawk Cross Country. The Junior ends his season with the following titles:
The kid is no joke. In fact, he is currently in the running for Max Preps Pennsylvania Athlete of the Week. Voting closes 11/13 at midnight, so go support your local athlete!
As a runner who is part of the team, I can speak on behalf of all my teammates when I say that Coach Dave Bredl has truly had the greatest impact on all of us when it comes to our person, success, and mentality. We would not be the same team we are without him. He is a coach that deserves much credit for the success he brought to Mohawk Athletics.
