What if “we all do our part”? I know it sounds too simple to be the solution. But how hard, really, can it be? In elementary, students learn about our environment and some of the negative effects humanity has on it. They learn simple solutions to bad habits. So when did we stop stressing the importance of protecting our Earth? Especially now when humanity only seems to increase in rates of destroying the planet.
What can we do? Will we have an effect?
Will carbon emissions and fossil fuels end the world? Well, no. But why should this matter? We know the facts. We know that these are still factors that play in the ongoing harming of the planet. We may not end the world, but as we continue living the way we are, we are destroying ecosystems, homes, and lives.
How important really is it that we have to let our water run till it’s warm? How difficult was it to turn that light off? Did you really need to double bag that milk? Is it necessary that those jeans be washed again?
Honestly, if we ask ourselves, “Is this necessary? Does this have negative impacts on our planet?”, and refrain from doing these things, we can make a difference. Even if it is minuscule. Because, at the end of the day, if “we all do our part”, the minuscule differences can have a huge positive impact on Earth.
