Challenge 24
Once again, Mohawk has demonstrated their excellence at this year’s Challenge 24 tournament on March 16. Challenge 24 is a card game in which you must use multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction on four numbers and have them equal 24. The competition is held every year in Ellwood City at The Holy Redeemer School. This year Grove City, Riverside, Ellwood City, New Wilmington, Mohawk, Slippery Rock, and New Castle participated.
At the competition, the top 16 compete for the top 4 spots. The following children placed in the top 16:
4th grade – Jackson Chapman, Logan Black, Blake Logan, Jared Kauffman, Taylor Freet, and Nicholas Keklak
5th grade – Michael Fleeson, Josh Wilkins, Jay Wrona, Justin Boston, Graecyn Pastore, Ryan Palmer, and Aricka Young
6th grade – Ian Sun, Deven Sudziak, Johnny Lamb, Ava Nulph, and John Dominick
7th grade – Peyton Mollenkopf, Adam Kliem, Brody Ayles, Charlie Shillingburg, Marc Conti, and Brock Esenwein
8th grade – Taylor Wilkins and Maria Romano
Out of these children, the following placed in the top 4:
4th grade – Taylor Freet in 3rd place and Jared Kauffman in 4th place
6th grade – Ava Nulph in 3rd place
7th grade – Brody Ayles in 1st place, Charlie Shillingburg in 2nd place, and Hunter Telshaw in 4th place
Marc Conti was the top scorer, as well. We are very proud of these children and their achievement.
