The episode’s jump between the past and present gives an insight to Serena’s frivolous past, while still showcasing the wholesome and heartfelt Thanksgiving experienced by everyone else. The episode’s drama was impactful without overwhelming the audience, leading us to the happy ending every Thanksgiving episode needs.

 

Gilmore Girls: Season 3 Episode 9 A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving

The beloved Gilmore Girls take on Thanksgiving full force this episode. Their morning begins at the Kims, with local Christian guitarists and loads of tofurkey. Next they experience the absurdity of Jackson’s family. From gobblers to shoes nothing remains safe from the wrath of the deep fryer. As the ritual sacrifice of all ritual sacrifices (Thanksgiving) rapidly approaches, the Scooby Gang battles it out with the vengeful Shumack Tribe. Xander’s newfound Syphilis and Willow’s empathetic tendencies nearly take them out of the mix. Spike’s recent nuterage leaves him so eager for blood, he turns to Buffy for help. With the tribe leader’s inability to die from anything aside from his own knife, Buffy bear-ly makes it out alive. The episode’s nostalgia factor amplified, giving the audience a sense of the earlier seasons especially with Angel being there and everything
